On November 5, Americans will cast their vote and decide who will win the White House and which party will receive the majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Will 81-year-old Joe Biden and the Democrats win a second term or will his challenger, 77-year-old Donald Trump, and the Republicans be successful this election season? In a long and very expensive election year, American voters are not happy about the choices they are presented with and worry about the direction their country is headed. At the same time, important topics such as democracy, abortion rights, immigration, the economy, and the support for Ukraine could be at stake. In this youth seminar, we want to discuss why this election is so important not just for the United States, but also for Germany and transatlantic relations. With experts, we will discuss the election system, the candidates, and the topics and what a win of either party might mean for Germany and Europe. Practice your English, get to know other young people and learn more about the U.S. with us this October!

The seminar is aimed at teenagers and young adults from Hesse and Rheinland-Pfalz. Registration deadline is September 27, 2024.
